Santa Cruz – Llanganuco/Mt. Urus – Ishinca

Day 1: Arrive in Lima from your country of origin. Travel to Huaraz and to your hotel.
Day 2: Travel from Huaraz, 3,100 meters, in private transportation to Cashapampa, 2,930 meters. There we will meet the muleteer and donkeys who will carry our trekking equipment. We will then begin our hike and pay the 10 soles/person entrance fee, charged by Cashapampa village to maintain the road. We will hike along the Santa Cruz Quebrada along the Yuracmayu river bank until we arrive at Llamacoral camp, 3,760 meters. The hike takes 4-5 hours.
Day 3:Llamacoral, 3,760 meters to Taullipampa, 4,250 meters. We will continue along the Santa Cruz Quebrada, increasing elevation by 490 meters. On the way we will see Jatuncocha and Ichiccocha Lagunes. After visiting the lagunes, we will go to the Alpamayo lookout where will see Mt. Alpamayo, Mt. Quitaraju, Mt. Potaca, Mt. Aguja, Mt. Caraz, Mt. Artezonraju, Mt. Piramide and Paria. After enjoying these beautiful snowcapped mountains, we will continue to camp. The hike takes 5-6 hours.
Day 4: Taullipampa, 4,250 meters to Cachinanpampa, 3,600 meters. Today we will cross over Punta Union Pass, 4,750 meters. We will climb 500 meters to the Pass, from which we will see the entire Santa Cruz Valley and the aforementioned mountains. We will then descend 1,150 meters through the Huaripampa Quebrada until we arrive at camp. The hike takes 7-8 hours.
Day 5: Cachinanpampa, 3,600 meters to Yanapaccha, 4,260 meters. We will continue through Huaripampa Quebrada until we arrive at Vaqueria. After Vaqueria, we will walk through Morococha Quebrada until we arrive at camp. The route takes 5-6 hours.
Day 6: Yanapaccha, 4,260 meters to Cebollapampa, 3,900 meters. Today we will cross over the second Pass, Portachuelo, 4,767 meters. We will climb 507 meters from our camp to this Pass. There is a spectacular panoramic view at the pass and you will see the Llanganuco lagune and the most famous mountains in the Cordillera Blanca, such as Mt. Chacraraju, Mt. Pisco, Mt. Huandoys, Mt. Huascaran (north & south) and Mt. Chopicallqui. After enjoying these mountains, we will descend to camp. The route takes 5-6 hours.
Day 7: Cebollapampa, 3,900 meters to Laguna 69, 4,650 meters. Today we travel to Laguna 69 and then we continue to Mt. Pisco Base Camp, 4,680 meters.
Day 8: Travel to Huaraz and to Pashpa. From Pashpa we will begin our hike to the base camp of Mt. Urus and Ishinca, 4,350 meters. The hike takes 5-6 hours.
Day 9: We will begin our climb at 3:00 a.m. for the summit of Mt. Urus, 5,495 meters. Afterwards we will return to base camp. The climb takes 8-9 hours.
Day 10: We will also begin today at 3:00 a.m. for the summit of Ishinca, 5,530 meters. Afterwards, we will return to base camp. The climb takes 10-11 hours.
Day 11: We will return to Pashpa and then to Huaraz. We will return to Pashpa along the same route that we came in on. Transportation will be waiting for us in Pashpa to take us to Huaraz and to your hotel. At the cited date and time of your departure for Lima, we will take you to the bus terminal, at which point our services end.
