Trekking Choquequirao Machu Picchu in the Vilcanota Mountain Range

Day 1: On this day we will gather at the hotel in Cusco at 5:30 a.m. We will set off for San Pedro de Cachorra, where our guide, chef, and porters will be waiting for us. Afterwards we will begin our hike to Chikiska camp, approximately 5-6 hours of trekking.
Day 2: On this day we will begin hiking toward the archeological site of Choquequirao. The route will be entirely uphill. We will eat close to the Marampata village. Afterwards we will arrive at our camp at the Incan terraces. Approximately 7-8 hours of hiking.
Day 3: On this day we will visit the grouping of archeological sites with a 2-hour guided tour. Afterward, we will continue climbing along the Rio Blanco where we will also eat lunch. Three hours after lunch we will arrive at our camp in Maizal. Approximately, 5-6 hours of hiking.
Day 4: Today we will climb an average of 3 hours, bordering the mouth of Yanama. We will then pass by the Victoria mines and later arrive at our camp at Yanama. The hike takes approximately 6-7 hours.
Day 5: This day will be a moderate hike through the area’s geography, descending down some slopes where we will see the biodiversity. We will have lunch in the reeds. Three hours after lunch we will arrive at the Collpa camp. The hike takes approximately 5-6 hours.
Day 6: This day will be a short but very pretty hike. We will have the opportunity to take a refreshing bath under the waterfalls descending from the mountains. A few minutes afterwards will arrive at camp and have lunch. We will have the afternoon free to relax.
Day 7: We will begin today climbing a small hill that takes us to one of the small archeological groupings in the area, called Llaqtapata. You will see a rock carved for astronomical purposes. Lunch will be in a hydroelectrical area. After we will take the train to Aguas Calientes and to the hotel.
Day 8: Today we will go by bus or walking to Machu Picchu, where we will enjoy a 2-hour guided tour. Afterwards, we will have sufficient time to climb the mountain Huaynapicchu. We will then return to Aguas Calientes to take the train to Cusco and to your hotel. The train trip takes 4 hours.
