Llamac – Baños termales de Churin

Day 1: Arrive in Lima from your country of origin, and on that day travel to Huaraz city and to your hotel.
Day 2: Day of acclimatizing in Huaraz, visit the Llacshac Laguna, 4,580 meters.
Day 3: Leave Huaraz for Chiquian Llamac, 3,300 meters. From this place we will begin walking toward Matacancha, 4,180 meters. We will climb 880 meters in elevation from Llamac. The route to Matacancha takes 5-6 hours. In Matacancha we will meet our donkeys and the muleteer.
Day 4: Matacancha, 4,180 meters. Mitucocha, 4,230 meters. On this day we travel over the first pass, Cacanan Point, 4,700 meters. From camp we climb 520 meters in elevation. From each pass, we will see the Pucacocha and Yanacocha Lagunas. The route takes 4-5 hours to reach camp, which is situated next to the Mitucocha Laguna where we will see the snowy Ninashanca, 5,607 meters, Rondoy, 5,807 meters, and Jirishanca, 6,094 meters.
Day 5: Mitucocha, 4,230 meters. Carhuacocha, 4,280 meters. We will travel over the second pass, Carhuac, 4,650 meters. From camp we will climb 420 meters in elevation. From the Pass we will see the north face of the snowy Carnicero, 5,960 meters, Suila, 6,344 meters, Yerupaja, 6,634 meters and the Toro. This day will take 5-6 hours to reach camp and the view of Carhuacocha and the said mountains.
Day 6: Carhuacocha, 4,280 meters, Huayhuash, 4,300 meters. We will walk 7-8 hours on this day, and the route takes us between the four lagunes to the lookout. After the lookout, you will be able to see the four lagunes with their diverse colors: Siulacocha, Small Quesillococha, Large Quesillococha, and Asulcocha. An hour and a half after the lookout, we will arrive at the Siula Pass, 4,800 meters, where we will see all the said mountains. As we go down from the pass, we will see the snowy Carnicero, 5,960 meters, Jurao, 5,600 meters, and Trapecio, 5,644 meters.
Day 7: Huayhuash, 4,300 meters. Viconga, 4,430 meters. On this day we will arrive at the Portachuelo Pass, 4,750 meters. From camp we will climb 450 meters in elevation. The route takes 5-6 hours until we reach the Viconga thermal baths. That afternoon we will enjoy the baths with some exquisite “mate de coca” (tea).
Day 8: Viconga, 4,430 meters. Surasaca Laguna, 3,950 meters. On this day we travel over the last pass, Portacheulo, 4,750 meters. Two hours after the Pass we will arrive at the Surasaca Laguna where we will wait for the taxi to go to Churin. After unpacking at your lodging, you will be able to take advantage of the Churin thermal baths.
Day 9: Churin to Huacho. In the morning we will travel to Huacho and after Huacho we will take a taxi to Huaraz and/or to your hotel in Lima. When you are ready to return to Lima, we will pick you up from your Huaraz hotel and take you to the bus station, at which point our service ends.
