Day 1: Arrive in Lima from your country of origin. On the same day travel to Huaraz and your hotel.
Day 2: Acclimatization day in Huaraz. Visit Laguna Churup, 4,480 meters
Day 3: Travel from Huaraz to Chiquian Llamac, 3,300 meters. From this place, we will begin hiking to Matacancha, 4,180 meters. You will climb 880 meters from Llamac to Matacancha. The hike takes 5-6 hours and we will meet along the way the muleteer and donkeys to carry our equipment.
Day 4: Matacancha, 4,180 meters, to Mitucocha, 4,230 meters. Today we cross over the first Pass, Cacanan Point, 4,700 meters. From camp we will climb 520 meters to this pass. After the Pass, you will see the Lagunas Pucacocha and Yanacocha. The hike takes 4-5 hours to reach camp. The camp is next to Mitucocha Laguna and you will also see Mt. Ninashanca, 5,607 meters, Mt. Rondoy, 5,870 meters, and Mt. Jirishanca, 6,094 meters.
Day 5: Mitucocha, 4,230 meters to Carhuacocha, 4,280 meters. We will cross over the second Pass, Carhuac, 4,650 meters. From camp we will climb 420 meters. At the Pass we will see the north face of Mt. Carnicero, 5,960 meters, Mt. Sulla 6,344 meters, Mt. Yerupaja, 6,634 meters and Mt. Toro. The hike takes 5-6 hours to reach Carhuacocha camp with a view of the aforementioned mountains.
Day 6: Carhuacocha, 4,260 meters to Huayhuash, 4,300 meters. This is the hardest day of the trek and we will walk 7-8 hours. The route takes us between four lagunas to a lookout where you will see the four lagunas with diverse colors: Siulacocha, Small Quesillococha, Large Quesillococha, and Asulcocha. Some one and a half hours after the lookout we will arrive at Siula Pass, 4,800 meters where we will see the said mountains. Upon descending from the Pass, we will see Mt. Carnicero, 5,960 meters, Mt. Jurao, 5,600 meters, and Mt. Trapecio 5,644 meters.
Day 7: Huayhuash, 4,300 meters to Viconga 4,430 meters. We will arrive at the Portachuelo Pass, 4,750 meters. We will climb 450 meters and the hike takes 5-6 hours until we reach the Viconga Thermal Baths where we can take advantage of the baths in the afternoon with some “mate de coca.” (tea).
Day 8: Viconga, 4,430 meters to Cuyocpampa, 4,600 meters. We will cross over the Cuyoc Pass, 5,000 meters. We will climb 570 meters from camp. From the Pass we will see the entire Cordillera Raura and the Cordillera Huayhuash (mountain ranges). The hike takes 5-6 hours.
Day 9: Cuyoc Pampa, 4,600 meters to Huayliapa, 3,630 meters. We will cross the San Antonio Pass, 5,200 meters. We will climb 600 meters to the pass, where you will see the south face of the mountains already mentioned for this trek. The hike takes 6-7 hours.
Day 10: Huayliapa, 3,630 meters to Gashapampa, 4,490 meters. On this day we will cross the Tapush Pass, 4,800 meters. We will climb 1,170 meters to the Pass. Ten minutes after the pass, you will see the famous Mt. Diablo Mudo, 5,350 meters. The route takes 6-7 hours to arrive at camp.
Day 11: Gashpampa, 4,490 meters to Jahuacocha Lagune, 4,100 meters. Today we will leave early at 4:00 a.m.. We will climb to the summit of Mt. Diablo Mudo, 5,350 meters. After reaching the summit, we will descend through the Huacrish Ravine to camp at Jaucocha Lagune. The climb takes approximately 9-10 hours.
Day 12: Jahuacocha, 4,100 meters to Llamac, 3,300 meters. We will cross the last Pass, Pampa Llamac, 4,300 meters. We will climb 200 meters. After the pass we will descend 1,000 meters to Llamac. In Llamac transportation will be waiting to take us to Huaraz and to your hotel. At the cited day and time for your return to Lima, we will take you to the bus station, at which point our services end.
