Day 1: Arrive in Lima from your country of origin, transportation to Huaraz and to your hotel
Day 2: Acclimatizing trek outside Huaraz, visit to the Churup Laguna, 4,480 meters
Day 3: Leave Huaraz for Chiquian Llamac, 3,300 meters. From this place, we begin walking toward Matcancha, 4,180 meters. We climb 880 meters. From Llamac to Matacancha, the route takes 5-6 hours. In Matacancha we will meet the donkeys.
Day 4: Matacancha, 4,180 meters. Mitucocha, 4,230 meters. On this day we travel over the first pass, Cacanan Point, 4,700 meters. From camp we climb 520 meters. From each pass, you will see the Pucacocha and Yanacocha Lagunas. The route takes 4-5 hours until we arrive at camp, next to the Mitucocha Laguna where we will see the snowy peaks of Ninashanca, 5,607 meters, Rondoy, 5,870 meters, and Jirishanca, 6,094 meters.
Day 5: Mitucocha, 4,230 meters. Carhuacocha, 4,280 meters. On this day we travel over the second pass, Carhuac, 4,650 meters. From camp, we climb 420 meters and from the Pass we will see the north face of the snowy Carnicero, 5,960 meters, Suila, 6,344 meters, Yerupaja, 6,634 meters and the Toro. The route lasts 5-6 hours, until camp at the Carhuacocha Laguna, where there is a view of the said snow-capped mountains.
Day 6: Carhuacocha, 4,280 meters. Huayhuash. 4,300 meters. This is the day when we trek 7-8 hours. The route takes us between the four lagunas to the lookout. After the lookout, you will see the four lagunas of diverse colors: Siulacocha, Small Quesillococha, Large Quesillococha, and Asulcocha. An hour and a half beyond the lookout, we will arrive at the Siula Pass, 4,800 meters where we will see all the said snow-capped mountains. Going down from the Pass, we will see the snowy Carnicero, 5,960 meters, Jurao, 5,600 meters, and Trapecio, 5,644 meters.
Day 7: Huayhuash, 4,300 meters. Viconga, 4,430 meters. On this day we travel over the Portachuelo Pass, 4,750 meters. We climb 450 meters from the camp. The route takes 5-6 hours until we arrive at the Viconga Thermal Baths. We will take advantage of the baths in the afternoon with some exquisite “mate de coca” (tea).
Day 8: Viconga, 4,430 meters. Cjatambo, 3,380 meters. On this day the route takes us through the Pumarinri Ravine toward the San Cristobal Pass, 4,150 meters. After the pass, we go down for an hour and twenty minutes, and we will soon feel the climactic change. We will arrive in Cajatambo and stay in lodging there.
Day 9: Cajatambo, 3,380 meters. Pativilca, 50 meters. At 5:30 a.m., we will leave Cajatambo on a public bus for Pativilca where we will take a taxi to Huaraz and your hotel. On the day you wish to return to Lima, we will take you from your hotel to the bus station, which will be the end of our service.
